Three Ways to Enjoy a Frozen Treat

In our house, there are 3 ways to enjoy a nice, stuffed, frozen Kong or bone.

There is the butt in the air approach.

Or you can always enjoy your treat in style and comfort.

And lastly, the classic, take-it-to-the-privacy-of-the-backyard approach.

How do your dogs enjoy their special treats?

  1. Delilah goes on the throw rug in the living room or in her crate.

Sampson gets a spot on the bed (with a towel) or he goes into the den with Hubby.

    They love their frozen treats!

  2. Athena gets to have her frozen Kong inside of her crate with a towel covering her bed. They can be so very messy (especially when there's canned pumpkin inside!).

    1. They are messy! I usually give the Kongs when I have to wash all the dog bedding anyway :)

  3. Ours are all butt-in-the-air kinda dogs. So funny. Can you imagine if humans ate treats with our butts in the air? We'd look ridiculous!

    1. Um...that's how we eat dinner at our house. Just warnin' ya!

  4. Elka always always starts out with butt in the air. Eventually, in the same spot, the butt goes down. Whenever I give her a Kong, I tell her "on the floor or on your bed". She typically sticks with the floor.

  5. Aww! Cute! The boys are big fans of the carry-it-off method. I think they each need their own space to enjoy a special treat, though as soon as one is done they have to check each other's spots just in case a morsel was left behind!

  6. Sage chews on her bone ONLY right before dinner time...always on the rug. That way she can watch us to make sure we do it right! :)

  7. Lamar prefers them up on my bed, on the pillows...esp if they're nice and meaty. Fozzie likes to go outside or on the couch. Can't beat those nice meaty chews! If they're frozen, do they make less of a mess on the pillowcases?

    1. They do make a mess but I fill the bones with the stuffing I put in the Kongs so it's usually a glorious mess of goodness. I wash the dogs bed covers about once a week because of my allergies so I don't mind it getting dirty. :)

  8. Usually wherever I put it is where they stay! They don't move, they get so focused as if they couldn't even imagine taking a step in another direction. And usually they hunker down on the floor with it.

  9. Ray likes to take his to his "mat" then lay sideways and lick the yummy goodness. He kind of looks like a huge baby, lol.
